Performs a full range of safety, efficacy and claim substantiation testing of cosmetics, toiletries and topically applied pharmaceuticals on human subjects. The Lead Sunscreen Technician will perform in-vivo sunscreen testing in a clinical laboratory with healthy, paid panelists.


  • Monitor and work with healthy, paid panelists
  • Apply products
  • Operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Collect and record data according to approved monographs and laboratory practices
  • Prepare and check data forms, tables, reports and other documents to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Schedule appointments for panelists
  • Secure Informed Consent from panelists, explain tests, answer questions and schedule appointments
  • Prepare daily calendars
  • Perform other projects and tasks assigned by company and supervisors


Required Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment set-up and operation, common laboratory techniques and safe chemical handling
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Communicate and work effectively and professionally with all members of the company and with members of the public
  • Team player with strong relationship building skills and professional behavior
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and flexibility
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
Required Education and Experience
  • Associate degree in science related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Laboratory Technician, Medical Technician or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in science related field
